(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama traveled on Sunday to Moore, Okla., where a massive tornado caused devastation last Monday. There he told Americans that God has a plan and it is important we recognize we are instruments of His will.
“There was a story that really struck me in the press,” Obama said. “In the rubble was found a Bible, open to the words that read: ‘A man will be as a hiding place from the wind, and a cover from the tempest.’ And it’s a reminder, as Scripture often is, that God has a plan, and it’s important, though, that we also recognize we’re an instrument of His will.”
The president was quoting from Isaiah 32--which, as translated in the King James version, goes on to say: "The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord."
