NATO says service member killed in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — NATO says one its service members has been shot and killed by insurgents in eastern Afghanistan.

A statement by the U.S.-led coalition says the shooting took place on Wednesday but provided no other details on the attack or the nationality of the service member.

The death brings to five the number of coalition deaths so far this month in Afghanistan.
