Teen Unemployment: 21.4% in February

(CNSNews.com) – The unemployment rate for teens, ages 16 to 19, was 21.4% in February, up from 20.7% in January, and higher than it has been since last November, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The unemployment rate for teens has been in the 20s range since the last few months of the Bush administration and hit a high of 27.3% in October 2010, nearly two years into the Obama administration.

Over the last 10 years, according to BLS data, teen unemployment was at a low of 14% in May 2006.
