BOSTON (AP) — Authorities say a tractor-trailer has crashed and burned just north of Boston, and evacuations have been ordered as the fire spread to a home.

Massachusetts state police say the crash occurred after 2 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 1 near Saugus.

Police say that the truck was hauling a flammable liquid when it slammed into the median, rolled over and went up in flames.

The liquid spilled onto the roadway and near some residences.

Some homes were evacuated but police did not give a number.

There was no immediate word of any injuries.

The roadway has been shut down in both directions.
