Lewinsky To Be Spokesperson For Jenny Craig
(CNSNews.com) - Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, well known for her relationship with President Clinton will be appearing in commercials for Jenny Craig, the diet company, starting Sunday.
Brian Luscombe, a spokesman for Jenny Craig confirmed the report to CNSNews.comsaying, "she (Lewinsky) will be appearing in commercials for us, after the first of the year."
Lewinsky will be appearing as part of a $7.2 million advertising campaign for which she will be paid.
According to the report the commercials, which are Lewinsky's first national television foray since an interview last March with ABC's Barbara Walters and a follow up interview in November, will be broadcast during the upcoming "The Brian Boitano Holiday Skating Spectacular" on Sunday and will be shown subsequently on daytime talk shows "Oprah" and "The Rosie O'Donnell Show."
The Lewinsky ads also include showings on cable television, the Internet and will run at least through March.
Lewinsky has reportedly lost 31 pounds as a result of the Jenny Craig diet plan. According to the story Linell Killus, a vice president for marketing for Jenny Craig, said the former intern was chosen to be a spokeswoman because she tried the program and it worked for her.
Another celebrity who lost weight through the Jenny Craig program, according to the company is Jerry Mathers who played "Beaver" on the "Leave It To Beaver" television series. Mathers also did commercials for Jenny Craig where he touted his success on its diet plan.
