During his opening monologue on Monday’s broadcast Leno said, “This has been a tough week for NFL coaches. Seven NFL head coaches got fired on Monday – seven let go. That’s a lot of job openings. In fact, that’s the most job openings we’ve had in this country in the last four years. It’s amazing.”

Monday marked the first day after the end of the regular season for the National Football League. It’s a day that many teams fire coaches and staff as they attempt to improve the performance of their football organization.
