Gallup: Disapproval of Obama Climbed to New High Last Week

( - The percentage of Americans who say they disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as president hit a new high in the Gallup poll last week for the second week in a row.

In the week ending Aug. 21, disapproval of Obama hit 53 percent in the Gallup poll, up one point from the previous high of 52 percent that it hit in the week ending Aug. 14.

As disapproval of Obama in the Gallup poll was rising to its all-time last week, approval of the president was dropping to its all-time low in the East (where it hit 44 percent), in the West (where it hit 39 percent) and among Hispanics (where it hit 44 percent).

Also, for the third straight week, approval of Obama among woman was 43 percent—its all-time low.
