Jackson spoke to CNSNews.com at the Democratic National Convention Thursday. She had Bible verses written on her arms and neck.
CNSNews.com asked her about the changes in the Democrat Party platform that was amended on Wednesday to include a reference to God that had been edited out:
“Well, it’s very sad that the whole Democrat Party is pro-same-sex marriage, pro-murdering babies, and basically in every way anti-God,” Jackson said. “That’s why I have a prayer group coming tonight. We’re going to pray. God said he can’t bless a nation who does not obey him, Leviticus 26. The reason America was blessed in the past is because we respected God and tried to obey the Ten Commandments.”
Jackson was a member of the SNL cast from 1986 to 1992. She said she became interested in politics in 2007 and became active in the tea party movement in 2010.
Jackson accused the left of putting its hope in government and Obama rather than God.
“I put Bible verses on me today because I was reading the Bible this morning looking for wisdom and I came across a verse in Psalm 43:5, and it said ‘My hope is in God,’ not a man, and not Obama who's anti-God.”
Psalm 43:5 says, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
She continued, “And I think our country really needs to get on its knees and pray 2 Chronicles 7:14 or we will not be a free country. If Obama wins, we will not be free anymore.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “”If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
