Florida Couple Threatens Bank with Foreclosure

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — A Florida couple is finally getting reimbursed for court costs months after Bank of America wrongly foreclosed on a Naples home they had already paid for.

To make it happen, their attorney had to show up at a branch office in Naples last week with a moving truck and sheriff's deputies. They had permission to seize the bank's furniture if necessary. An hour later, the bank wrote them a check.

Warren and Maureen Nyerges (NEYE'-ur-jihs) should receive their share of the money this week, ending a bizarre saga that started when they paid Bank of America $165,000 cash for a 2,700-square-foot foreclosed home in 2009. Four months later the bank served them with a notice of foreclosure. It took them 18 more months to sort the whole thing out.
