(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) held the Senate floor for 21 hours and 19 minutes, but White House Press Secretary Jay Carney says the Obama administration wasn’t listening.

When asked by a reporter on Wednesday if President Obama caught any of the marathon address by Sen. Cruz on his concerns about Obamacare, Carney replied, “I don’t believe so.”

Carney was then asked if he watched any parts of the speech himself.

“I did not. I, uh certainly read about it,” Carney said.

During the 21-plus hours Cruz held the Senate floor, he claimed that Washington politicians are not listening to the concerns Americans have about Obamacare.

“All across this country Americans are suffering because of Obamacare. Obamacare isn’t working,” Cruz said when he began his address to the Senate on Tuesday.

“Yet fundamentally there are politicians in this body who are not listening to the people. They are not listening to the concerns of their constituents, they are not listening to the jobs lost or the people forced into part-time work, to the people losing their health insurance, to the people who are struggling.”

Cruz encouraged citizens to tweet their concerns about Obamacare with the hashtag #MakeDCListen, eventually reading some of the tweets on the Senate floor.
