RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Court documents say a 10-year-old boy charged with murdering his white supremacist father told investigators he shot the man after growing tired of him hitting him and his stepmother.
A police declaration released Wednesday in Riverside County, Calif., states that the boy said he thought 32-year-old Jeff Hall was cheating on his stepmother and that he might have to choose who to live with.
The declaration says the boy said he pulled a revolver off a low shelf in his parents' closet and aimed the gun at his father's ear while he was asleep and shot him.
The declaration was filed Tuesday with nine felony charges of child endangerment and criminal storage of a gun against the boy's stepmother Krista McCary.
A phone number for McCary could not be immediately located.
