MIAMI (AP) — In a story May 30, The Associated Press reported on lawsuits contending that $1.7 million in payments by Chiquita Brands International enabled Colombia's AUC paramilitary group to continue its violent rampage against leftist guerrillas and sympathizers. The story should have added that the AUC also had large incomes from drug trafficking and other sources, which Chiquita says dwarf the payments it made.
