JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Authorities say a blowout caused the fatal crash in Mississippi of a motorhome carrying a group of friends from Georgia to New Orleans to attend the national college championship football game.

Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict told The Associated Press early Sunday that 47-year-old Darryl Parker of Riverdale, Ga., died. He said Parker's wife was among 10 people injured.

Benedict said the driver of the hired motorhome was in critical condition. The extent of the others' injuries wasn't immediately known.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Miller said the motorhome blew a front tire, ran off Interstate 59 in Forrest County, Miss., and hit a tree.

Miller said the group was traveling to the Bowl Championship Series national championship game, which will be played Monday in New Orleans.
