Apostrophes Called ‘Confusing, Old-Fashioned’

(AP) - This street sign in Birmingham, England, reads ‘St. Paul’s Square.’ But not for long.
In a sign of changing times, the local government has decided to stop using apostrophes in its street signs, saying they are confusing, old fashioned and interfere with modern GPS systems.
Britain's self-appointed guardians of the English language are said to be outraged.
