SAN ONOFRE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say there is an ammonia leak at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in Southern California, and San Diego County's emergency operations center has been activated.

Southern California Edison spokesman Steve Conroy tells KCAL-TV that employees identified the leak at about 3 p.m. in the non-nuclear area of the plant. He says no injuries have been reported and there is no danger to the public.

The plant is about 45 miles north of San Diego.
