Robert Novak, one of the nation's most influential reporters and conservatives, passed away today, August 18, 2009.  You can read a tribute to Novak by Tim Carney, who worked as a reporter for the Evans-Novak Political Report and then became its editor, here.

The Washington Post, which carried the "Evans-Novak" syndicated column for many years, published a lengthy obituary of Robert D. Novak today, by staff writer Adam Bernstein, posted here.

The Chicago Sun-Times, the home-newspaper to Robert Novak's syndicated column, described him as "among the best this country has produced" in terms of journalists, and "an example of how to practice our profession."
