NEW YORK (AP) — Five men have been indicted on murder charges in the death of a New York Police Department officer who was shot during a botched robbery.

Shooting suspect Lamont Pride and the other four were indicted in Brooklyn state Supreme Court on Friday.

The defendants did not enter pleas. They are being held without bail.

Prosecutors say Officer Peter Figoski was killed early Monday during a botched armed robbery by Pride and the others in a basement apartment.

The 47-year-old officer was a divorced father of four daughters.

Thousands of police officers are expected for Figoski's funeral on Monday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Babylon, 30 miles east of New York City.
