American flags owned and proudly displayed by residents, including military veterans, in Weatherford, Texas, have been destroyed.  According to reports, seven homes have suffered the vandalism over the past weekend.

Mike Freiley, a 30 year Navy veteran, woke up one morning to find a charred flag pole and destroyed flag. "It burnt and melted right there on the pole. Yeah, it makes me really angry," said Freiley.

Another resident, who has two active-duty sons serving in the Middle East, said: "If you wanna go buy one and burn it, that is fine. [But] don't come and steal one on private property and desecrate the American flag."

"It's really unsettling," said a third resident, Karmann Goff, after she found her flag burned and lying in the street

Many of the residents have since replaced the destroyed flags.  Currently, there are no leads, though there is a $1,000 reward being offered for any helpful information.
