A Koala received mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and a heart massage as part of a rescue in Australia.

The rescue occurred on August 21 after a koala was hit by a car and scurried up a tree and passed out.

The marsupial had to be removed from the tree where it fled before it could be treated.

A volunteer from the Animalia Wildlife Shelter had to perform CPR on the koala.

While initially thought to be local koala ‘Sir Chompsalot’, this koala was new to wildlife volunteers and later named Sean.
