The United States and Canada face each other twice in 24 hours on Olympic ice, and the nations’ leaders are placing an alcoholic bet on the outcomes. President Obama tweeted first that he’d bet Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper a case of beer per game (women’s and men’s). The tweet is from the President himself, due to the “-bo” signature at the end: Harper then accepted seven minutes later, adding that he would be sending Canadian beer should Canada lose: There’s no word on what brand of beer President Obama will send up north, should the United States not prevail. But, he’s already down at least one case. Canada defeated the United States in the Women’s Gold Medal Game Thursday, 3-2 in overtime, thus ensuring Obama will be sending at least one case of beer to Toronto.
