The Hillary Clinton book tour continues into a second week with yet another verbal misstep. In an interview with CBS on Sunday, Clinton quipped that the American political system is the most “brutal in the world.”

In response to a question about other potential female candidates, Clinton said:

“Politics is so unpredictable,” Clinton responded. “Whoever runs has to recognize that the American political system is probably the most difficult, even brutal, in the world.”

The inanity of this statement cannot be fully realized until you compare America’s supposed “brutal” system to that of numerous other nations on Earth. In Iran, when protesters took to the streets in 2009, a young girl was shot and left to die in the street. In Libya, their dictator was ousted and beaten to death and had his body dragged through the street. In Syria, Bashar al-Assad, the man Clinton deemed a “reformer,” responded to political turmoil by killing thousands and possibly using chemical weapons. In Ukraine, political unrest quickly turned into an invasion by a foreign army and the subsequent slaying of protesters. Just last week, Iraq saw a terrorist army run ruff-shot through one third of their country and ‘brutally’ murder 1,700 prisoners.

Brutality may be in the eye of the beholder, but Clinton’s latest tone-deaf statement is turning her book tour into a gaffe tour. Joe Biden, call your office.
