Flashback-HHS Sec. Sebelius: 'Hold Me Accountable for the Debacle' of Obamacare Website

Kathleen Sebelius, who testified that she is "the one responsible" for failures of Obamacare's website, made headlines today with news of her resignation as Health and Human Services (H.H.S.) secretary.

After first implying that Verizon, or possibly the site integrator, might be to blame, Sebelius ultimately testified that she is "accountable for the debacle":

Rep. Blackburn: "So, who is responsible for overseeing this project, is it you or your designee?"

Sec. Sebelius: "Let me be clear: I'm not pointing fingers at Verizon, I'm trying to explain the way the site operates. We own the site; the site has had serious problems..."

Rep. Blackburn: "So, who is in charge, Madame Secretary?"

Sec. Sebelius: "The person now in charge, as an integrator, is QSSI, one of our..."

Rep. Blackburn: "Who was in charge as it was being built? At that team, who is the individual?"

Sec. Sebelius: "Michelle Snyder is the..."

Rep. Blackburn: "Michelle Snyder is the one responsible for this debacle?"

Sec. Sebelius: "Well, excuse me, congresswoman, Michelle Snyder is not responsible for the debacle. Hold me accountable for the debacle. I'm responsible."
