U.S. Congressman Paul Broun, M.D. (R-Ga.) announced today he will return any Obamacare subsidies he is set to receive to the U.S. Treasury.

Rep Broun is a co-sponsor of Rep. Shelley Moore Capito's (R-WV) bill, H.R. 3067, the No Obamacare Subsidies for Members of Congress Act. Rep. Capito's bill would prevent Members of Congress from receiving an approximately 75 percent subsidy for the purchase of a health insurance policy on the exchanges created under Obamacare.

As a result, Dr. Broun pledged to return any such funds to the U.S. Treasury until Obamacare is fully repealed, saying:

"Obamacare is bad news for Americans, and I'm fighting to exempt everyone from this terrible law through my efforts to defund, repeal, and replace Obamacare with true patient-centered care, like my Patient OPTION Act."

"No American should be subject to the trainwreck that is Obamacare, and Members of Congress in particular should have to feel the financial pain that this bad law is certain to inflict. The American people deserve fairness, and I will not give up this fight until we can eliminate Obamacare once and for all."
