New England Patriots' owner Robert Kraft is in the news for doing something, well rather patriotic. Kraft sent a letter to the family of a fallen American solider who volunteered in the IDF, who was killed in the Gaza Strip on July 20th. Kraft saw news coverage of the soldier’s death and in a photo on screen he was wearing a Patriots skull cap.

Fallen Soldier a Patriots Fan

St.-Sgt. Max Steinberg, a native Californian, was killed in Gaza with six others when his armored personal carrier was hit by a Hamas anti-tank missile. A letter from Prime Minister Netanyahu, says that “Max set an example of selflessness that must... be preserved and passed on to future generations.”

In Kraft’s letter he says,

“Although I didn’t have the privilege of knowing your son Max personally, I have taken the liberty of reaching out to you since I noticed him wearing a New England Patriots cap in one of the broadcasted photos. He represents the consummate patriot and I am forever grateful for the sacrifices he made to keep our beloved Israel safe. His dedication and loyalty to Israel have not gone unnoticed and I am sure he has left behind a legacy of which you and your family can be proud.”

As a die-hard Patriots fan it's not hard to see how Steinberg was a Patriots fan. Not only are they a good team but they promote selflessness. When your star quarterback takes pay cuts to bring good players in, that shows selflessness. While the two cannot be compared, you do however see that Max Steinberg was a shining example of what it means to be a Patriot.
