A Russian fisherman was getting mauled to death by a brown bear, when his cellphone rang out with Justin Bieber's "Baby"- and the angry bear turned around and fled on foot!

Which is rather similar to the human reaction to hearing Justin Bieber.

"I had parked my car and was walking towards the spot I'd marked out when there was a tremendous impact on my back and the bear was on top of me," Vorozhbitsyn told Central European News.

"I couldn't believe my luck when the phone went off and [the bear] fled," Vorozhbitsyn said. "I know that sort of ringtone isn't to everyone's taste, but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke."

"Wildlife experts believe the ringtone must have startled the bear into halting its attack," the Daily Mail reported. "'Sometimes a sharp shock can stop an angry bear in its tracks and that ringtone would be a very unexpected sound for a bear,' explained one."

The 42-year-old Vorozhbitsyn posted a photo of the aftermath of the grisly attack. He has cuts, scratches, and gauze wrapped around his head, as well as bandages on his abdomen, hand, and arm.
