America Is Losing Its Identity

Identity thieves are rampant in society's current culture, from social security number theft to the dangers of business hackers of personal credit card accounts. The stories are ominous and too familiar. Too often, we must take steps to protect ourselves, only to learn of a new and devious way to access our money and our good standing- and our federal government has taken sides with the violators.

In a report from NBC from 2008, a man from Texas had to pay fines for unpaid traffic tickets he did not incur, because an illegal alien stole his identity. The title of the report is, "Illegal immigrants turn to identity theft," and since, the Supreme Court has ruled in 2009, that identity theft laws cannot be used against the use of fraudulent social security numbers in order to obtain jobs in America. They did, however, stipulate that if the numbers used belong to an actual person, and the illegal alien knows it, the commission of a subsequent crime can be prosecuted.

From the New York Times write up of the SCOTUS decision:

The most sweeping use of the statute was in Iowa, after an immigration raid in May 2008 at a meatpacking plant in Postville. Nearly 300 unauthorized immigrant workers from the plant, most of them from Guatemala, pleaded guilty to document-fraud charges rather than risk being convicted at trial of the identity-theft charge. In most of those cases, the prosecutors demonstrated only that the Social Security numbers and immigration documents the workers had presented were false.

Hmm... from the country of Guatemala. Seems to be ringing a bell. If they agree to providing false documents, they can escape the identity theft charge.

Time and time again, the real victims of identity theft by illegal aliens are Latinos who are legal residents of the United States. As the Texas man put it, "Even though I am Hispanic, I am against illegal immigration," Miranda said. "Even though a lot of them come to work, there are always bad apples. (Identity theft) has really made my perspective ... negative about immigration."

Another case cited by Numbers USA:

The Associated Press reports on the case of Wichita, Kansas resident Candida Gutierrez, whose total identity was allegedly stolen by illegal alien Benita Cardona-Gonzalez. The alleged thief used her identity to get a job, a driver's license, a mortgage and medical care for the birth of two children.

Cardona-Gonzalez was informed that the identity she used was someone else's and was prosecuted, but not until after Gutierrez fought tooth and nail to be able to get her life back.

Gutierrez said, "When she claimed my identity and I claimed it back, she was informed that I was claiming it too. She knew I was aware and that I was trying to fight, and yet she would keep fighting. It is not like she realized and she stopped. No, she kept going, and she kept going harder."

Once fraud is the reason you gain benefits that you cannot and should not have, fighting for the ability to perpetrate fraud is all you know.

The Department of Justice's own website details a successfully prosecuted Guatemalan illegal, and lo and behold, they even call him and his other partners in crime, "illegals." Shocker.

Which brings me to the current occupant of the White House.

This President has willfully committed fraud after fraud, instituted one lawless act upon another, all in the face of mounting anger of the American people, and he knows there is not the political will in the halls of Congress to stop him. And just as Cordona-Gonzalez fought her victim, we see the all the President's men line up for a fight with just the mere mention of the use of impeachment to stop him and remove him from office.

But beyond the legal case for impeachment, as Andrew McCarthy writes in, Faithless Execution: Building The Political Case For Obama's Impeachment it takes political will, and many who would be charging the hill with pitchforks a few years ago, have simply lost the will to fight. The opposition party and its passivity in the face of the total destruction of the great United States of America, have frustrated and confused them.

Too many times people who would ordinarily fight for the America they think is coming to an end, simply say, "It's not going to happen, so drop it," or, "Why give the President more ammunition?" or worse, "What's the use?"

Building the political will must be undertaken by the people of the United States. A recent poll touted that "only" 33% of the American people believe Obama should face impeachment. From Politico:

"Fifty-seven percent of Republicans say they support impeaching Obama, compared with just 35 percent of independent voters and 13 percent of Democrats."

But, using the latest voter identification which shows 42% identify as Independents, 25% as Republicans and 31% as Democrat, the numbers, politically take a more interesting shape. Fourteen of 25 Republicans, 15 of 42 Independents and 4 of 31 Democrats believe he should be impeached, more Independents believe he should face the music of his lawless Presidency than any other block.

Funny, at election time we seek out what the Independents think, until the Independents are actually fighting for Independence.

Our nation is losing its identity by every drop of ink by Obama's pen, and every word uttered by him.  He does not fight for America; he's fighting us over changing its identity.  He isn't going to stop, he's going to ramp up efforts. We cannot let him change the identity of America, not on our watch, not in this nation.
