On his nationally syndicated radio talk show Thursday, host Mark Levin suggested that the biggest news yesterday was not about Obamacare but was instead the fact that Texas joined the Convention of the States movement, and “this is going to be an earthquake.”

“You wanna hear the biggest news today, the very biggest news today?” asked Levin. “The Texas House just passed Article V Convention of States resolution. The Senate already passed it. So, Texas is state number 11, state number 11 out of 34 needed. ...

“I am telling you, this is going to be an earthquake as we get closer and closer to this,” Levin stated later in the program.

Levin’s comments come after the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act by a 217-213 margin and the Republican-controlled Texas Legislature passed Article V Convention of States resolution on Thursday.

Below is a transcript of Levin’s remarks from his show Thursday:

“You wanna hear the biggest news today, the very biggest news today? The Texas House just passed Article V Convention of States resolution. The Senate already passed it. So, Texas is state number 11, state number 11 out of 34 needed.

“I am telling you, as we get closer to 20, this will be the biggest issue in front of you. The left will go crazy. They’ve already started. Their organizations are getting ramped up.

“Some of the conservative think tanks will start to attack as well. The Washington politicians will go nuts. The media will go nuts. I will again be called a right-wing conspiracy hack for my role, at least, in radio and my book in this effort.

“But I want to congratulate The Convention of States organization, Mark Meckler, Mike Farris, Tom Coburn and their folks. I want to congratulate Governor Abbott, Lt. Governor Patrick and the conservatives in the Senate and the House in Texas.

“So, Texas is now state number 11.

“I am telling you, this is going to be an earthquake as we get closer and closer to this.

“In Washington, the Washington Republican establishment, the Democrats, the media are going to freak out, and we’re just going to have to be ready for it.

“This is the greatest threat against the statist, utopian progressives in 125 years, the fact that we are prepared to use the Constitution of the United States to restore the Constitution of the United States and to restore a real republican, little ‘r’ republican, government.

“And it’s now or never, given the number of Republican legislatures there are.

“So, this is the big news. It won’t really be reported. Instead we’ll be talking about Obamacare.”
