Hollywood actor James Woods took to Twitter last week to make his thoughts on sanctuary cities known loud and clear, saying that “‘sanctuary city’ is like a warning label.”

“Having your hometown designated a ‘sanctuary city’ is like a warning label,” James Woods tweeted. “Bye bye, property values. #NumbskullLiberals

James Woods’s Twitter tirade started with a comment above a Fox News story, wherein the father of “an 18-year-old Rockville High School student charged with the rape of a fellow classmate has been arrested for being in the country illegally, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).” CNSNews.com reported on a similar story a week earlier.

“If we arrested every government official who chose to ignore his Constitutional duty, it would solve this problem,” Woods suggested above the Fox News report.

The famed actor cited another Fox News story on the dangers of sanctuary policies later, deatiling his understanding of U.S. immigration laws. “There is NO argument here,” stated Woods. “It is a violation of federal law to harbor a lawbreaker. Arrest the mayors of these cities.”

According to the United States Department of Justice website,

“Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324(a) defines several distinct offenses related to aliens. Subsection 1324(a)(1)(i)-(v) prohibits alien smuggling, domestic transportation of unauthorized aliens, concealing or harboring unauthorized aliens, encouraging or inducing unauthorized aliens to enter the United States, and engaging in a conspiracy or aiding and abetting any of the preceding acts. Subsection 1324(a)(2) prohibits bringing or attempting to bring unauthorized aliens to the United States in any manner whatsoever, even at a designated port of entry. Subsection 1324(a)(3). …” (emphasis added).

Specifically, the harboring provision is as follows:

“Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iii) makes it an offense for any person who -- knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation.”

Later, continuing on about sanctuary cities, Woods dished about “leakers” and taxes too:

“No federal funds for #CriminalEnclaves (‘sanctuary’ cities), enforce ALL federal laws, charge ‘leakers’ under the Espionage Act, cut taxes.”
