Reality star Caitlyn Jenner, who identifies as a transgender woman and a Republican, was invited to speak at the College Republican National Committee’s convention on Friday, where he commented on the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) while practicing for the congressional baseball game in Alexandria, Va.
“Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot — liberals can’t even shoot straight,” Jenner said of the gunman, 66-year-old James Hodgkinson of Ilinois.
As CNSNews.com previously reported, Hodgkinson was a volunteer for former presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
“First of all, nobody deserves what happened out there,” Jenner said. “There’s no justification. There are crazy people in the world. We have to minimize that type of stuff.”
Jenner’s comments were posted on the College Republican Federation of Virginia’s Facebook page, according to the Washington Post.
Jenner, who was born Bruce Jenner and became an Olympic gold medalist, announced in 2015 that he identified as a transgender woman.
