Actor and director Mel Gibson recently talked about the sequel to his blockbuster 2004 film “The Passion of the Christ.”
The conversation took place in an interview with Houston megachurch pastor Joel Osteen and his wife, Victoria. The full interview will air on Osteen's SiriusXM channel on Oct. 28.
When asked about the film, which will deal with the resurrection of Jesus, Gibson said:
It’s going to take some time, because you don’t have to do something like this. You do it so that it makes sense, you do it so that it surprises, you do it so do it that it enlightens. Just some kind of telling, some rendering that is surfaces, it’s not good enough. So it has to be dug deep for, it has to have in its image, in its sound in its visual, it has to be able to delve to a place where people have never even thought [of] before on a theological level.
Gibson added, “We’re getting into some interesting areas on this, between the crucifixion and the resurrection, like what was going on in there. Maybe I’ve said too much already.”
