“Finally happened: Jesus is now a hate crime,” Tucker Carlson declared on his Fox News Channel program Monday.
Carlson discussed Long Island’s Nassau County police labeling the hanging of a painting of Jesus on an Islamic Center’s fence as a “hate crime”:
“That's it - just a painting of the crucifixion. It didn't say 'Death to Muslims' on the back, it didn't even say 'Jesus saves.”
'It’s just a painting. Nevertheless, it’s now in the hands of police,” continued Carlson. Carlson said that police are looking into investigating the matter as a hate crime “presumably because it's now hateful to remind people that Christianity exists.”
“Law enforcement has been so bullied by the Progressive thought police in this country that they felt obligated to investigate religious art as a crime,” noted Carlson.
Carlson warned that a “brave new world” of warped law enforcement priorities has taken hold in the U.S. – and that Americans are either afraid or unwilling to speak out against it:
“[Today’s police] play along with the fantasy that you can hurt somebody by expressing unfashionable views. Meanwhile, incidentally, murders go unsolved for lack of manpower. It's a brave new world the left has created and almost nobody says anything about it.”
