Sequester Cuts Should Hurt, You Know

It’s Memorial Day weekend, so hopefully you are able to get out and enjoy the great outdoors and take a moment to remember those who served our country.

Of course, depending on where you are, you may have noticed some reductions in National Park services due to sequestration while you were out.

Yes sequestration, “the clash” of deciding how spending cuts should be managed while the administration ensures the impact is painful, is a tough act to follow.

But I’ll try. With a song [or, just play video above].

Why do they always have to know

Where the sequester cuts will go

It was a plan we once denied

But now it’s here because we signed

Now everyone must know

Where the sequester cuts should go

Like cutting meat, meat, meat

We just want a tax increase

TSA uniforms are black

We’ll pay for new ones on their backs

But White House tours they have to go

Sequester cuts should hurt you know

Where can those cuts just go now

Sequester cuts should hurt you know now

Cut infrastructure make roads rubble

Bike safety efforts we should double

So we have to let you know

The first decision is easy

We’ll tell ICE to set them free

Put that ball upon the tee

Golf with Tiger before cuts now

C’mon we’ll let you know

Where our priorities will go

Where sequester cuts should go now

Sequester cuts should hurt you know now

The park system is in trouble

But we’ll drone rabbits we could cuddle

We want to let you know

How painful sequester cuts will go

Sequester cuts should hurt you know now

Green jet fuels they are in trouble

So we’ll pay fuel costs more than double

But the furloughs –oh, they can’t go

Sequester cuts should hurt you know
