TMZ’s cameras caught up with former basketball star Dennis Rodman, who claimed he would be returning to North Korea and attempt to free arrested American citizen Kenneth Bae.

In explaining his efforts Rodman told the TMZ reporter, “Obama can’t do sh*t. I don’t know why he won’t do it, so do that bullsh*t.”

Bae, was arrested in North Korea in November of last year and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for crimes against the government, although it remains unclear what Bae did to incur the wrath of the North Korean officials.

Rodman, who has visited with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un in the past, tweeted out a plea to the leader on May 7, calling on him, “to do me a solid and cut Kenneth Bae loose.”

The TMZ video shows Rodman discussing the Bae arrest in North Korea with a reporter, eventually saying, “We got a black president can’t even go talk to him, how about that one?”

In the interview Rodman says he's planning on making a trip to North Korea on August 1 in hopes of freeing Bae.
