Last night, radio host Mark Levin said, “This is a nation committing suicide because of its government.”

On Monday’s show, Levin discussed a report that claims 175 coal fired power plants are set to be closed - 57 of them in 2012:

“This is a country committing suicide because of this government. I’m not kidding. This government attacks production. You know- I don’t even know how we’re gonna have new inventions, new creations, new things in this country because the basis from which you jump off and develop other things is under attack- in other words, the capitalist system.

“We have a Federal government that is de-industrializing our nation. They don’t want drilling off of Alaska, or in Alaska. Or off the East or West coasts. They oppose fracking, or as it’s known formally, fracturing.

“They come up with these cockamamie arguments, and are putting out these horrific regulations that are trying to kill it, or slow it. Blocking pipeline production. I mean this is national suicide.

“Meanwhile, [Pres. Obama’s] flying all over the - you know, the hypocrisy. So we are shutting down 175 coal fired generators, 8.5% of the total. And they create electricity. Electricity.”
