Beauty Queens Address Hot Button Issues In Warm-Up For National Competition

I encountered something surprising at Al Sharpton's National Action Network 2013 MLK Luncheon this week: a pair of beauty queens.

Not that I'm complaining.

Jessica Frith, Miss District of Columbia USA 2013 and Despina Ades, Miss District of Columbia Teen USA 2013 will be representing the nation's capital in Donald Trump's Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants, respectively, this year.

Given the recent proclivity of pageant judges to ask contestants politically-charged questions during the question and answer portion of the competition, I helped them warm up by throwing out a few questions on hot button issues - such as gun control, gay marriage and (of course) Honey Boo Boo see how they'd do.
