Are Some States More Racist Than Others?
Protesters rallied in front of the Supreme Court last Wednesday calling for the high court to uphold Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. Section 5 singles out certain states and localities that had problems with racial discrimination half a century ago, and forbids those particular states and districts from changing their election laws without federal government approval.
Many see this unequal treatment of the states as being unconstitutional.
MRCTV asked some of these protesters why Section 5 was still necessary and whether they still thought that some states were more racist than others.
