On Wednesday, International Women’s Day, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to honor and express his respect for America’s women.
Trump voiced his gratitude for all the “vital” contributions women and called on his fellow Americans to join him in honoring them:
International Women’s Day highlights the achievements of women and, according to InternationalWomensDay.com, was the outgrowth of “the rise of radical ideologies” at the start of the 20th century:
“International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
“International Women's Day (IWD) has been observed since in the early 1900's - a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.”
