Santorum: 'Contrast,' Not 'Cash,' The Key To Victory

February 10, 2012 - 12:14 PM

Rick Santorum outlined the key to Republican victory in the presidential election.

Speaking to the Conservative Political Action Conference today, Santorum outlined his vision for GOP victory, which rely, not on outspending the Obama campaign, but on putting forth contrasting ideas and policies:

Contrast is "why we won in 2010." Santorum said that the GOP won't be able to out-spend the Obama campaign - but, it will win by promoting its differences from Obama's policies of mandated health care, government control of people's lives, and environmental fear-mongering.

Santorum said that he is the GOP candidate who is willing to speak out and promote conservatism:

  • "In every year we will spend less money than the year before - until we have a balanced budget."
  • Administration doesn't believe that rights come, not from them, but "from a Higher Authority."
  • Obamacare is "the main reason" I'm in this race.
  • Obamacare "is about government control of your lives - and it's gotta stop."
