In a letter to House and Senate appropriations Chairs, ForAmerica Chair Brent Bozell today warned that the next IRS scandal will be involve Obamacare - unless its role in enforcement and implementation is defunded.

"If you thought one IRS scandal was enough, brace yourself for the next," Bozell warns in the letter:

"The current scandal surrounding the IRS is going to have tremendous impact on the implementation and enforcement of Obamacare.  Given the IRS's heavy handed role in Obamacare implementation, and given that the person currently assigned to oversee that implementation is none other than Sarah Hall Ingram, Congress must act to put an end to the IRS's role in Obamacare.  Ms. Ingram is the same individual who oversaw and allowed the targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups."

In light of the way the IRS targeted conservative groups regarding tax status, Bozell says the IRS shouldn't be given "the power to selectively assess penalties against certain groups when enforcing Obamacare."

To prevent another scandal, Bozell calls on the House and Senate appropriations committees to "withhold all funding to the IRS Affordable Care Office in the next round of appropriations."

"Not only should this office not see one penny from the American taxpayer, it should not exist.  There should be no role for the IRS in Obamacare," he says.
