Former Pres. Bill Clinton tells us that Pres. Obama is “doing the right things.” Really?
Asked about the possibility of a write-in movement to draft Hillary Clinton as a presidential candidate, former President Bill Clinton dismissed the notion - and went on to defend the record and wisdom of Pres. Obama.
“I think, you know, whenever the country has trouble--economics, something--someone suggests something like this, but I think President Obama is doing the right things and I think he's going to be re-elected,” Clinton told CNSNews.com on Friday.
Despite Obama “doing the right things” (in Clinton’s eyes), the "trouble" the country is currently experiencing includes:
- More than 400,000 jobless claims,
- $15 trillion of federal debt,
- More than half the states suing the administration’s health care law,
- The administration suing three states for trying to protect themselves from illegal immigration
Which seems to beg the question: if, three years into your presidency, the “country has trouble” (as Clinton put it), are you really “doing the right things?”
Bill Clinton seems to think so.
CNSNews.com asked Clinton, “And you support his (Obama’s) reelection campaign fully?”
“Absolutely,” Clinton said.
