Considering recent events involving the Obama administration's misuse of the IRS, the Justice Department's snooping in the phone call records and emails of Associated Press reporters, the Fast and Furious debacle, the gross mishandling of the Benghazi massacre and the impending catastrophe of Obamacare, I think it's time for Americans who care about the future of their children to lay aside the Obama blinders and take a long and serious look at just how out of control the federal government is.
How out of control is the government? So out of control that nobody can be found who was responsible for leaving four Americans to die in an attack that lasted for seven hours without even attempting to send help.
So out of control that the IRS was allowed to harass people who didn't go along with the president's policies, the president says he didn't know about it and nobody can find the guilty parties.
So out of control that the Justice Department can spy on Americans in their workplace and the head of the department rescues himself from the investigation.
So out of control that the president uses executive privilege to thwart an investigation that could have identified the person responsible for the insanity of putting firearms in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, guns that were used for the murder of an American and nobody even knows how many Mexicans.
So out of control that it puts one of the people who could have been part of the IRS debacle in charge of Obamacare, a mysterious power grab that has already generated twenty thousand pages of regulations and basically leaves the distribution of healthcare to non-medical profession bureaucrats.
So out of control that the national debt is projected to eclipse GNP in the next few years
Washington's job is manifold. Security, commerce, enforcing federal law, regulation, keeping our military up-to-date and fully staffed, and so many other things that fall under the auspices of the federal government and all these many, diverse and vital entities that make up our government have one thing in common.
Without strong and responsible leadership and left to their own devices, they are nothing more than complacent bureaucracies in jeopardy of becoming grossly inefficient and arrogant, trampling the rights of the citizens they work for.
This nation has fallen a long way since "The Buck Stops Here" days of the Truman administration.
People who are put in positions of leadership are put there to lead, to accept responsibility, to ferret out bad apples in their employment and make them face up to the truth.
Executives in private business are graded on achievement and their acceptance of responsibility of the actions of those under them. It's their place to hire the best people they can find and ride herd on them, weeding out the dishonest and incompetent and exposing any corruption or dishonesty that occurs on their watch.
The penalty for breaking the law in the private sector is prison, if proven guilty, and I submit to you that nothing that has ever happened in the private sector has threatened the very existence of a free society as seriously as the underhanded things that have happened under the Obama administration.
The IRS has grown into an autonomous monster unanswerable to anybody - bloated, arrogant and terrifying in the scope of the power it wields over We The People. And, now it has abused that awesome power and needs to be torn completely apart and put back together in a way that will prevent a recurrence of what they have done.
People need to go to prison and if President Obama and the attorney general won't cooperate, what does that tell you about their leadership?
Growing government beyond the person at the top's ability to keep it accountable is a disastrous idea.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.
God Bless America
