It's Time For Peaceful Union Members To Demand An Apology From James Hoffa

For years I've been calling on peaceful Muslims to call out the radicals and acknowledge the violence problem within Islam and now, I issue the same challenge to peaceful Union members.

Obviously, no one is comparing Islamic terrorism to Union thuggery, but what is comparable is the fact that they both have a violence problem that is often ignored or even denied.

In Lansing, Michigan, over 12,000 Union members showed up to angrily protest Right to Work legislation. Remember, this new law does not take away any Unions, nor does it take away any Collective Bargaining rights, but merely gives all workers the right to choose whether they want to be in the Union. (Which I always thought the "Right to Choose" was a religious tenet of liberalism)

The mentality of the Union is that you should be forced to be in a Union and pay Union dues, whether you like it or not, as a condition of employment. Giving workers the freedom to choose apparently so offends the Union mindset, that these people have unleashed their full wrath and fury on those who disagree.

Democratic Michigan State Representative Douglas Geiss threatened from the debate floor that "there will be blood." Teamsters head James Hoffa said on CNN as well as a Detroit News Op-Ed piece that we're "going to have a Civil War". It's one thing to use this language during the normal political process, but it is the height of irresponsibility to use it at the precise moment that tempers are most flared, Union anger is at a boiling point and civil unrest is on the verge of exploding.

Perhaps this is where liberals can remind us again of tragedies like the Gabrielle Giffords shooting and how violent rhetoric begets violence.

In Lansing, Union thugs attacked and collapsed a huge and heavy tent structure used by conservatives who had to flee being in harm's way while Fox News contributor Steven Crowder was savagely beaten by cowardly Union bullies while daring to be present while Conservative.

The simple fact is this. No one with an ounce of intellectual honesty can deny that certain groups are potentially dangerous when they don't get their way. Islamic radicals, Occupy Wall Streeters and yes, Union members.

It's time for America to wake up and acknowledge the acceptance of violence within Union ranks. James Hoffa owes America an apology on behalf of Union thuggery and rank and file Union members need to be embarrassed by this behavior and demand Union leadership condemn it. Hoffa is the top Union official in America. The tone of Union discontent is set from the top. When Hoffa refuses to apologize, or even acknowledge the violence of those within his ranks, he suggests tacit approval, even potentially encouraging it with dangerous, war like rhetoric.

If I could give Hoffa some free advice, it would be this. If he wants to keep the Unions from waning in power and influence, he'd better work on cleaning up it's image because America will not tolerate a bunch of screaming babies who resort to violence when they don't get their way. I only hope and pray that peaceful Union members won't tolerate it either.
