Shona Holmes is a self-employed, 49-year-old mother and grandmother from Ontario, Canada.  She fled to the United States for life-saving surgery after her government-run health care failed to provide the care she desperately needed.  She has become a dedicated, passionate patient advocate who feels strongly, as a grateful neighbor, about the need to communicate with as many Americans as she can about the negatives of government control of health care.

Simply put, Canada's health care system has let its people down-and many of us are grateful for having the option of turning to the U.S. system.
